Recent and on-going projects and clients include:
Comcast Interactive Media (CIM)
Our consulting efforts with CIM include the analysis and classification of their web traffic patterns (3 billion hits/month), profiling of novel database architectures (MonetDB, Kickfire, DataScaler), and recommendations for log analysis systems (Splunk). We have also done development work for them, helping them with their Fancast application and building tools for the automated tools for the classification of their web traffic.
MTV [with Hunt&Gather]
We developed a Flex widget with a PHP/Symfony back-end for one of their main websites, and wrote a blogging engine to replace WordPress for one of their flagship blogs.
McGraw-Hill [with Hunt&Gather]
We developed Presentation Center, a web application that serves as a large repository of multimedia assets for the education titles that McGraw-Hill publishes.
Pearson Education [with Hunt&Gather]
We added support for a back-end Subscription Management System (SMS) to a set of Pearson Education's websites.
Scholastic
We collaborated with Tom Synder's developers in the creation of some of their Flex-based educational applications.
Modernista!
We worked with a team of developers from Modernista! to internationalize the Hummer.com web site for General Motors.
Knowledge Discovery Lab, UMass, Amherst
We wrote a large portion of the Proximity system for relational data-mining, used among others by the NASD, CIM, and several agencies in the intelligence community.
UMassSAFE and Massachusetts Highway Department
We created and maintained a data warehouse for a variety of state data sources, including traffic accidents, citations, and health data. To provide access to this database to researchers, the media, and state officials, we developed probabilistic linkage methods, as well as desktop and web-based querying and mapping tools.
